Brendan and Trixie Whyte had a joint vision. They witnessed the Philippines’ vast unemployment, and that led them to their visions of establishing a company that would help address the unemployment issues by providing job opportunities locally.
The company, initially named Q2 Search Inc., engaged in executive level placements. Its operations started in September 2000 in their spare room in their house in San Lorenzo Village with 6 staff and a golden retriever. Two months later, the office was moved to Suite 901 88 Corporate Center Building in Makati City
In 2006, Q2 received its first level of accreditation from Investors in People (IiP) – a UK based accreditation body that certifies companies with exemplary people management skills and aimed at improving business performance. In line with its commitment of maintaining global standards, Q2 was re-accredited in 2009.
In 2011, Q2 was recognised by the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) as the Employer of the Year for the SME Category. Q2 was the first ever company to be presented with this award for this category.
To Support its company’s commitment to its long term goals, Q2 invested in the purchase of its office in the heart of Makati Central Business District. The 12th floor of 88 corporate center now serves as Q2’s Headquarters.
In 2013, Q2 achieved an even higher accolade, receiving the highly coveted IiP gold standard. Q2 became the first ever Gold accredited company in the Philippines, and so far the only one in its industry. Q2 continues to serve as a strong advocate for IiP allowing more companies to appreciate the value of people in the organisation.
2014 opened up new opportunities for Q2. An alliance was formed when Randstad accredited Q2 as its exclusive partner in the Philippines. Randstad is one of the largest HR service providers globally.
In 2015, Q2 celebrated its 15th anniversary marking an important milestone in its inspiring history. The company continues to go from strength to strength adapting to the ever-changing needs of a demanding and evolving market place but, never forgetting its noble purpose of uplifting lives.
